Senior Accountant

DeviantArt is seeking a senior accountant to support the company’s accounting function and support the company’s growth. This position reports to the US Controller and is responsible for leading the accounting, tax, and financial reporting activities. This individual will implement controls, processes, and systems to enable DeviantArt to meet operational, reporting and audit requirements as we scale.


Function and Responsibilities:

Manage monthly close; accounting records, journal entries, flux analyses and reconciliations

Execute all aspects of accounts payable processing including data entry, reconciliation of vendor invoices, and timely payment

Prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP

Enhance internal controls over financial reporting and processes

Assist with the external audit and reviews

Assist with contract review and ensure revenue is recognized in accordance with GAAP and applicable accounting policies

Review all operating expense activity

Maintain cash and  prepare cash forecasts

Oversee and coordinate the preparation of tax returns (sales, income, use, etc.) with the external tax firm and ensure tax compliance



B.A. / B.S. in Accounting, Finance, or Economics - CPA preferred

2-4 years of experience; Big 4 public accounting preferred

Strong knowledge of GAAP and FASB interpretations

Knowledge of ERP system; Oracle Fusion preferred

Ability to work effectively under deadlines

Ability to present to and interact with all levels of the organization

Proficient spoken and written English

Strong attention to detail

Strong organizational skills and multi-tasking capabilities
